A perfect list of books to get started with. I would maybe add some New X-Men to the mix just for fun.
Just thought I should provide a friendly reminder that, thanks to our friends at comiXology, comic books are ever so easy and affordable to read right now. (Legally!) Think you might enjoy Grant Morrison’s “bulletproof canon” but don’t want a floppy hangin’ around in the bathroom? Read it on…

So It’s been an exciting week and it just got a little more exciting. Earlier today I found out I’ve been selected for the Semi-Finals of MTV’s and Stan Lee’s The Seekers contest. This is kind of wild and I am really just honored to be included among such an array of talented writers.

Alright here it is! One page from the super secret all-ages Pulp Adventure comic I’m currently working on with Paul D. Houston of Renderwrx Magazine. It’s shaping up to be a fun romp and homage to all the great things that inspired my imagination as a kid. Mixed with some of the things I’ve come to love as an adult. I hope to share more with you all soon.

A buddy of mine got to go to the Frankfurt book festival while I was NYCC this past week. Came in this Morning and found some foreign language comics on my desk. I swear I could read only Soleil books for the rest of my life and be perfectly happy. Now I just need to learn French and German

Finally got around to reading Jason Hall and Matt Kindt’s PistolWhip Vol. 1 this weekend. It’s fun…
A naive bellhop’s struggle towards a life’s ambition, an expatriate musician on the run, a young woman’s battle with her paranoia and her past, and the mysterious figure who wants to control their lives. Set in an exotic atmosphere of a by-gone era, Pistolwhip is a marvelous tale crafted with a crime noir feel and an artistic style reminiscent of the best European graphic novelists.

Legend has it that “The Bat-Man” first appeared 73 years ago TODAY in Detective Comics #27

So I’ve been reading a ton of Cerebus lately…
I got a few trades for a birthday back in March and I’m just totally hooked. I can’t believe I haven’t read this series soon. It’s kind of re-ignited my love of comic books, not that said love was dying or anything but those of you who know me know what I’m talking about.
But yeah I found this sketch this morning and I figured I’d share.
Cerebus vs. The X-Men… apparently it actually almost happened.
